St Mary Star of the Sea

St Mary Star of the Sea is a historically significant Catholic parish church located in West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

The church, completed in 1900, is considered one of the most beautiful neo-gothic churches in Australia. It has seating for over 1,200 people, making it the largest parish church in Melbourne and even in Australia.

The church contains four side chapels in addition to the main altar, which are dedicated to the Sacred Heart, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Saints of Ireland. Currently, the church is undergoing restoration to bring it back to its original state.

The church is open to the public every day from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Masses are held on weekdays at 12:30 pm and on Sundays at 10:30 am. It is recommended to visit during the day when the church is open.
