Description

Situated on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Yellomundee Regional Park is a 485-hectare (1,200-acre) protected regional park. It is located approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) north-west of Penrith and 25 kilometres (16 mi) south-west of Richmond.

The park occupies a region that is part of the Great Escarpment created by the orogeny that formed the Great Dividing Range.

The Yellomundee Regional Park stretches in a north-south direction from Yarramundi to Mount Riverview and Emu Heights, covering a length of 8.6 kilometres (5.3 mi). It offers various lookouts and features mountain bike, horse, and hiking tracks. The park is also positioned west of the Nepean River, with approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) of its boundary overlooking and abutting the river.

One of the most notable aspects of Yellomundee Regional Park is its unique character. Only one-fifth of the land within the park has been modified, preserving large areas of natural bushland as well as cultural and historical sites. The park plays a crucial role in protecting alluvial and riverine plant communities, making it an important part of the region's ecosystem.

Whether you are an experienced hiker or a casual walker, the picturesque surroundings of Yellomundee Regional Park offer a satisfying adventure. It is a place where you can create lasting memories.
