Description

Nandroya Falls Circuit in Palmerston is a popular walking trail that offers a serene escape into Wooroonooran National Park.

Located in the Wet Tropics World Heritage area, the falls are approximately 6.6 kilometers from Henrietta Creek campground. The trail takes visitors 700 meters deep into the rainforest and splits into two paths, each showcasing its own natural wonders.

The Nandroya Falls Circuit provides a magical experience with breathtaking scenery. Along the trail, visitors can discover small rock pools, smaller waterfalls, and rapid streams, creating a serene atmosphere. The rainforest canopy above creates a tropical environment that can be fully experienced through the senses, including the sight of wildlife.

The highlight of the circuit is the Nandroya Falls, a picturesque waterfall with crystal clear water cascading into a small lagoon. The lagoon is perfect for swimming and relaxation, allowing visitors to cool off while surrounded by the stunning rainforest scenery.

The best time to visit the Nandroya Falls Circuit is between April and November to avoid the intense tropical heat. During this period, the trails and waterfalls are at their most beautiful, with clear skies and a pleasant breeze. To reach the starting point of the circuit at Henrietta Creek campground, visitors can drive or take a bus. It's a one-hour drive from Cairns along the Bruce Highway. Parking at the campground is limited, so arriving early is recommended, especially during peak season. If arriving by bus, visitors will need to alight at the Palmerston Section car park and walk about 2.5 kilometers to the trailhead.
