Description

Mara Creek Picnic Area is a hidden gem in Yuraygir National Park, offering a peaceful retreat away from the crowds.

It can be reached by car or bike, with ample parking available. While there are no facilities on-site, visitors can enjoy the surrounding natural coastal heath, which is home to a variety of birds and reptiles. Birdwatchers will especially enjoy the area during spring and summer when wildflowers are in bloom. The picnic area is also the starting point for the Angourie walking track, which offers opportunities for photography and birdwatching. The best time to visit is from September to February when the wildflowers are at their peak, but the area can be enjoyed year-round. To get there, follow Yuraygir Road and the signs from Wooli, which is about 10 km away.
