Description

Auburn River National Park is a beautiful protected area located in the North Burnett Region, Queensland.

It features a steep river gorge and hardwood forests, with some relics from a brief, unsuccessful gold rush in the late 19th century. The park is home to multiple species of birds, reptiles, and mammals, such as the vulnerable brush-tailed rock-wallaby.

The northern banks of the river have a designated campground where camping is allowed. The park is accessible via Mundubbera-Durong Road.

The Auburn River National Park offers a variety of hiking trails that are perfect for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. The Gorge Lookout Walk is a 600m return track that leads to a lookout offering an incredible view of the Auburn River Gorge. The Riverbed and Rockpools Trail is a 1.5km return trail where visitors can explore beautiful rockpools and the riverbed. The Gorge-top Walk is a challenging 3.2km track that offers breathtaking views of the Auburn River Gorge from the top.
