Bald Hills is a boutique winery located in the prime wine-growing area of Bannockburn in Central Otago, New Zealand.
The vineyard produces award-winning Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Riesling wines. Bald Hills welcomes both overseas and local visitors to the Tasting Room and its pop-up cellar door.
What you can see and do:
Visit Bald Hills' Tasting Room - located in the heart of the vineyard - and enjoy a relaxed tasting session surrounded by the beauty of the vineyard and its surroundings. Visitors are welcome to taste the wine, purchase their favorite wines, and have them shipped to their home. Additionally, visitors can walk through the lush gardens surrounding the homestead and enjoy the sights, sounds, and beauty of the surrounding vineyard.
Bald Hills' pop-up cellar door, located at Cargo Cellar Door in Queenstown, offers visitors a chance to try Bald Hills' Central Otago wine and other wines from Quartz Reef, Prophets Rock, and Domaine Rewa. The cellar door is open on weekends from 12 pm to 5 pm until April 15, 2023.
The beautifully restored church or outdoor seating area in the surrounding Central Otago scenery provides visitors a place to relax while enjoying a delicious seasonal menu with a range of platters, pizzas, salads, and specials. Visitors can also enjoy games includes cricket, beach volleyball, petanque, and croquet.

Bald Hills Tasting Room is located at 2277 Gibbston Highway, Bannockburn, New Zealand. The drive to the vineyard from Queenstown takes approximately 35 minutes.
The pop-up cellar door at Cargo, situated at the bottom of the gondola in Queenstown, can be reached via car or free bus services. Check Cargo website or Bald Hills website for more information on free bus services, which operate within Queenstown.
