Description
Barranyi National Park is a peaceful wilderness haven located in the Sir Edward Pellew Group of islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Owned and protected by the Yanyuwa Aboriginal people, the park plays a vital role in preserving their way of life and culture. Managed by the Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory, visitors can enjoy the park's long sandy beaches, birdwatching, and fishing. It is recommended to register your visit with the Borroloola Ranger Station and bring your own fuel and provisions. Access to the park is only by boat, and camping grounds are available at Mud Bay and Paradice Bay. Barranyi National Park offers a serene escape from city life, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature and wildlife.
