Description

Beares Beach is a stunning surf beach located in the coastal town of Bermagui, New South Wales.

It is known for its great beach breaks and is the closest surf beach to the Bermagui township. The east-facing orientation of the beach allows for optimal swell for surfing, and visitors can also enjoy activities such as swimming or taking a leisurely walk along its picturesque shore.

Surfers can expect ideal surf conditions at Beares Beach, particularly during the winters when the swells are higher. It is recommended to bring your own surfboard as there is no rental service available on the beach.

While Beares Beach is an excellent location for swimming, it is not recommended for inexperienced swimmers, especially when the surf is high. The beach is not patrolled by lifeguards, so it is important to take safety precautions and be aware of rip currents.

The southern end of Beares Beach is dog-friendly, with signposted areas where dogs can be let off their leash to enjoy the sand and water. It is important to keep your dog under control and clean up after them.

Beares Beach can be enjoyed at any time of the year, but it is best to visit during the warmer months (December to February) when water temperatures are at their warmest for swimming. Surfers, on the other hand, tend to prefer the winters (June to August) when the swell is larger.

To get to Beares Beach, visitors can drive to the beach and utilize the free parking area available nearby. Access to the beach is via a walking trail or stairway from the parking area. The GPS coordinates for the parking area are -36.425,
