Description

Beaver Reef, located off the coast of Mission Beach, is a popular diving site known for its vibrant coral gardens, bommies, and sloping coral walls.

Divers can explore depths of up to 22 meters and encounter a diverse range of marine life, including pelagic fish, reef sharks, turtles, stingrays, and tropical reef fish. One of the highlights is Shark Alley, where a parade of pelagic fish and reef sharks can be observed, including whitetip and blacktip reef sharks. The best time to visit is during the dry season between April and October, when diving conditions are ideal with clear water visibility and an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Beaver Reef is easily accessible by boat from Mission Beach, and visitors can choose from private charters or diving tours. Diving schools in the area offer courses and guided dives at Beaver Reef.
