Bendeela Camping and Picnic Area in Kangaroo Valley is a peaceful oasis located just outside of Kangaroo Valley.
It offers basic campsites with no access to electricity, toilets, and drinking water. Portable gas barbecues are allowed, except during total fire bans.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy at Bendeela, including fishing in the Kangaroo River, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, hiking on scenic trails, and canoeing or boating on the river and lake. For those who prefer a more relaxed experience, the picnic area provides a laid-back atmosphere.
Camping and picnicking sites at Bendeela are available on a first-in, first-served basis, but bookings are essential due to COVID restrictions. Campers can enjoy the rustic atmosphere and the warmth of a campfire under the stars.
To get to Bendeela, take Bendeela Road approximately 14 km west of Kangaroo Valley. Visitors coming from Sydney can take the Hume Highway and Illawarra Highway to Moss Vale, then proceed to Kangaroo Valley via Moss Vale Road and turn left into Bendeela Road newline.
