Description
Bicton Baths is a popular swimming location in Western Australia that offers a range of activities for visitors.
It is known as "Kwoppa Kepa" to the Whadjuk Noongar people, meaning 'beautiful water' in Noongar. The baths were initially started by the Melville Amateur Swimming Club and have since become a permanent home for the Melville Water Polo Club. The main attraction of Bicton Baths is its U-shaped wooden jetty, which provides easy access to the clear, cool tidal water. The swimming experience is made even more unique by the presence of various types of wildlife, including algae, anemones, crabs, dolphins, fish, nudibranchs, shrimp, sponges, and starfish newline.
