Description

Booderee National Park, formerly known as Jervis Bay National Park, is a nature reserve located in the Jervis Bay Territory of Australia.

It is co-managed by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and Parks Australia. In 1995, the park was renamed "Booderee", which means "bay of plenty" or "plenty of fish" in the Dhurga language, chosen by the local Aboriginal community.

The Telegraph Creek Nature Trail is a must-see when visiting Booderee National Park. This trail is located in the Bherwerre Peninsula section of the park, running along the Telegraph Creek. The trail is a peaceful and serene experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while walking through the Gondwana Rainforest. The trail is a relatively easy walk, making it accessible to almost all age groups. It is the perfect opportunity to get outdoors, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the sounds and sights of the park.

The trail is well-marked and visitors will find interpretive signs and information along the way about the flora and fauna that can be seen in the rainforest. Keep an eye out for the lyrebird, which calls this rainforest home. Visitors can even take a relaxing break by sitting on one of the benches along the trail while enjoying the tranquil scenery.

The length of the trail is around one kilometer and should take approximately 30 minutes to walk. The ends of the trail are connected by a loop, so walkers can exit the trail as they entered or make a looped return to add extra
