Description

Overlooking the vineyard, with panoramic views of the surrounding region and the sea, the Braydun Hill Cellar Door is the ideal spot to start your visit to the rest of the McLaren Vale township.

Gentle slopes overlooking the sea combined with cool sea breezes make Braydun Hill very special.

The property overlooks South Australia’s McLaren Vale to the south, and the ocean to the west, and is located next to the Onkaparinga Gorge National Park.

On a rare patch of Paringa Loam with a northerly and westerly sloping site, the vineyard is in an ideal position for producing top quality wine from Australia’s top vine variety Shiraz. The vineyard is exclusively devoted to shiraz, with very limited quantities produced each vintage.

Combining the tradition of grazing and grape growing, the Braydun Hill philosophy is to maintain a clean and green vineyard without the use of pesticides. Sheep are often moved into the vineyard straight after vintage where they stay until budburst in the spring. Permanent pasture between the rows provides good feed, and the sheep provide natural fertiliser for the vines.

Cellar Door

The Cellar Door is an ideal place for chilling out over a platter lunch or a peaceful lazy afternoon, and Carol and Tony are only too happy to chat about their fine wines. Tastings and sales at the Cellar Door are available other times, but it is advisable to book first.
