Located in Warby Ovens National Park, Briens Gorge is a picturesque picnic spot nestled in a delightful valley. It is a popular destination for visitors who enjoy natural scenery and tranquil settings. One of the highlight features of the picnic spot is the nearby waterfall, which shares its name with the gorge. It's important to note that the waterfall is quite often dry, and can only be seen after heavy rain.
The Briens Gorge picnic area is set in a lovely bushland glade, and it's an ideal place to relax, unwind and enjoy a picnic. There are several picnic tables available, and visitors can make use of the fireplaces provided in the area. Wildlife is abundant in Warby Ovens National Park, and visitors can enjoy bird-watching, particularly around the picnic site. The best time to visit Briens Gorge Wangandary is during the summer months (December to February), when the weather is warm and temperatures can range between 20 – 30 °C (68 – 86 °F).
