Description
Carmichael Falls Hotham Heights is a picturesque waterfall located within the Alpine National Park.
It is surrounded by snowgum forest and drops 25 metres over basalt cliffs in the headwaters of Precipice Creek and the Dargo River.
The hike to the falls is a short 1km along the Dinner Plain 4WD track. Hikers can enjoy scenic views of the surrounding landscape as they descend through the snowgum forest. The trail ends at a viewing platform that overlooks the falls, allowing visitors to take in the stunning beauty of the falls and the natural environment.
The terrain is uneven with many unstable objects and long grass, so caution is advised.
The best time to visit Carmichael Falls Hotham Heights is during the summer and autumn months when the weather is mild and hiking conditions are safe.
To reach the falls, visitors can follow the Dinner Plain 4WD track. The trail is accessible by car and is approximately 1km in length. It is important to wear appropriate hiking shoes and clothing, and to bring enough water and food for the hike.
