Cascades Female Factory Historic Site

Unlock the stories of the female convicts that were once held at the Cascades Female Factory, Australia's most significant convict site.

With guards, nurses and babies, up to 1000 people lived here at any one time. You can choose to explore the site at your own pace with a basic self-guided site entry, or join a Heritage Tour or our dramatised performance tours 'The Proud and the Punished' to discover more about the lives of these women and their children. Tours operate regularly throughout the day.
