Cooks' Cottage

Exploring the historic Cooks' Cottage in the picturesque Fitzroy Gardens is an absolute must when visiting Melbourne.

Built in 1755 and shipped from Yorkshire, England, the cottage is the oldest building in Australia and a popular tourist attraction. Upon entry, visitors are treated to a self-guided tour with a comprehensive fact sheet, available in a variety of languages, as well as volunteers dressed in 18th century clothing. School tours and group visits are also available, along with seasonal school holiday programs and special events.
