Description

Cumberland Falls is a picturesque waterfall located in the Great Otway National Park in Victoria, Australia.

It is accessible via a 6.3-kilometer walking track that takes about 1 hour and 36 minutes to complete.

To get to Cumberland Falls, start at the car park of the Cumberland River Holiday Park, which is about 7 kilometers southwest of Lorne. The walk takes you through stunning scenery along the river and eucalypt forest, with some challenging sections and river crossings.

When you reach the falls, you can enjoy the view from a comfortable boulder or explore the rock shelf near the waterfall pool. If conditions are dry and with caution, you can climb above the falls and walk along the slippery rocks. There is also a swimming hole where you can take a dip.

Cumberland Falls is only accessible during dry weather, so it is best to avoid higher flow periods in winter/spring and after heavy rainfall. There are no facilities at the falls, but there are picnic tables at the visitor car park. Dogs are not allowed in the park, and removing firewood is prohibited.
