The beach and its neighboring campsite provide a habitat for many eastern grey kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, and possums. Visitors can often see these animals skipping across the sand, seeking shade under beach vegetation, or even taking a dip in the ocean.
The Diamond Head Loop Track is a scenic walking trail accessible from the beach. It stretches across the rocky headland south to Kylies Beach, offering stunning views of the beach and coastline. It's a great opportunity to experience the area's flora and fauna up close, so don't forget your camera.
Diamond Head Beach is accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles from the campsite in the south and Dunbogan in the north. Visitors can obtain this pass from the park or purchase it online beforehand.
While Diamond Head Beach is an all-year-round destination, the best time to visit is from September to April when the weather is warm and dry. During these months, visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and sunbathing on the beach.
