At Cameron Inlet, take a walk along the beautiful Planter Beach to see the remains of the Brigantine shipwreck that occurred in 1877. Continuing north, visit the Patriarch Wildlife Sanctuary for a barbecue lunch and the chance to see migratory wading birds. Afterward, head to Patriarch Inlet for a picnic or beachcombing. For a longer adventure, take the two-hour return beach walk from Patriarch Inlet to Red Bluff, looking out for seashells and other washed-up treasures.

Next, drive to Memana and visit the Tobias Furneaux Lookout and Walkers Lookout for spectacular views of the Eastern coast of Flinders Island. Return to Lady Barron via the coast road and Badger Corner, stopping at the Adelaide Bay bird hide to view the waters of the Franklin Sound and the abundant bird life.

The best time to take this drive is during the summer months (December to February) when the weather is more stable and pleasant. Flinders Island is accessible via air and sea, with airlines, charter planes, and ferries available.
