East Woody Beach, also known as Galuru, is a pristine beach located on Dhamitjinya (East Woody Island), which is only four kilometres from the town of Nhulunbuy.

The beach is easily accessible via a well-maintained sealed road.

East Woody Beach is a favourite spot for both the locals and tourists alike to enjoy the spectacular views of the clear azure waters and white sparkling sands of Galuru. The beach offers a tranquil setting to relax, soak up the sun, or take a leisurely walk with your furry friends.

Dhamitjinya (East Woody Island) is a sandspit island, which can be reached by a 10-minute walk. From the island, visitors can relish a breathtaking 360-degree view of Melville Bay and the coastline behind you. Climbing on the rocks along the beach is a fun activity for tourists to enjoy. While exploring the island, visitors will also come across shallow wading pools at low tide.
