Ellis Beach is a hidden gem located in the Cairns Region, Queensland, Australia. It is a pristine stretch of sand, situated 20 kilometers north of Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas. The beach is located beside the Coral Sea and is the farthest from the city.

The nearby Double Island, known by its native Aboriginal name Wangal Djungay, is a must-visit place. Visitors can also explore the Djabugay (Tjapukai) traditional Aboriginal country. The Ellis Beach Bar & Grill is a popular attraction that offers mouth-watering food and refreshing drinks. After filling up, visitors can take a scenic drive along the Captain Cook Highway, which offers breathtaking views of the Coral Sea. During this time, the weather is warm and dry, and there is less chance of rain. The wet season, which runs from November to April, can be hot and humid, with heavy rainfall and the possibility of cyclones.

To reach Ellis Beach, visitors can fly into Cairns Airport, located about 20 kilometers south of Ellis Beach. From there, visitors can rent a car or take a taxi to Ellis Beach. There are also many tour operators that offer day trips to Ellis Beach
