The Elouera Surf Lifesaving Club is an integral part of the beach community. It was established in 1966, and its first surf boat, Charlotte Breen, was donated by local businessman Tom Breen and christened on the official opening of the clubhouse on June 8, 1967. The club had an impressive 375 members in its first season, the Elouera "Sharks." Today, the surf club continues to play an essential role in maintaining the beach's safety for visitors.
