Description

Enjoy Contemporary Art Space is a not-for-profit contemporary art gallery located in the vibrant Cuba Street arts area of Wellington, New Zealand.

Established in 2000 by artists Ciaran Begley, Ros Cameron, and Rachel Smithies, Enjoy operates as an artist-run space, presenting exhibitions, publications, public programs, and residencies by emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery is supported by Creative New Zealand and the Wellington City Council, and is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of Wellington-based artists and arts professionals.

The gallery's mission is to develop experimental contemporary art practice for Aotearoa, and to encourage artists to consider their personal and collective relationships to the future from their own perspective. Enjoy hosts a range of exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing works by local and international artists across a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance art. The gallery also offers a range of public programs, including artist talks, workshops, and events, designed to engage audiences with contemporary art and ideas.

Located on Left Bank, just off Cuba Street, Enjoy is easily accessible by public transport and is within walking distance of many of Wellington's other cultural attractions. The gallery is housed in a bright and clean contemporary space, with character aplenty and a welcoming atmosphere suitable for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Enjoy is the longest running artist-led gallery in Poneke, Aotearoa, leading contemporary art practice and supporting the development of new work and promoting critical discourse.
