The Epicurious Garden in South Bank, QLD is a free, year-round destination that showcases seasonal, edible plant life including fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
This garden is designed to educate and inspire the home gardener with over 400 herb pots and thirty beds featuring the best of subtropical gardening that was chosen by a team of chefs and foodies.
Visitors are invited to explore the garden’s exquisite plant life and see what fresh produce looks, feels, and smells like. It’s a great way to get ideas on what to grow in your own backyard. The garden is all about discovery, and visitors can learn about growing and cooking their own produce. The garden also has a harvest cart that is open from 7am-2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, where visitors can collect fresh produce for free. Moreover, the volunteers are onsite in the garden from 7am-11.30am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The best time to visit the Epicurious Garden is during the subtropical winter months from June to August when the weather is mild and dry.
The Epicurious Garden is located in the heart of the South Bank Parklands, near River Quay. The best entrance is via Roma St Station, and the garden is a short hike from the top of Anne Street. Visitors can also get to the garden by bus, train or ferry.
