Erewhon Station is a 35,000-acre sheep and beef property located in Ashburton, New Zealand.
It is situated at the foothills of the Southern Alps at the top of the Rangitata River. The station is a Clydesdale horse stud and a working farm near the headwaters of the Rangitata Gorge. Erewhon Station is a picturesque property nestled right amongst the Southern Alps of NZ. The Country provided a magnificent backdrop for the Lord of the Rings movie “The Two Towers”. Edoras, the capital of Rohan, was located on Mt Sunday at neighboring Mt Potts Station.
