For those seeking more adventure, the Wheel of Fire Cascades is another beautiful waterfall located 1.4 kilometers from the Araluen waterfall. The Wheel of Fire Cascades has a large rock pool at its base which is popular with visitors, perfect for a swim. The second part of the trail is more challenging, with uphill segments and stairs to climb, but the stunning views from the viewpoints en route make the strenuous hike worth it. Keep an eye out for the rare gastric brooding frog, the orange-sided skink, Mackay tulip oak, Eungella spiny cray, and Eungella honeyeater, which are only found in the region.
