First Coat Lockyer Valley Gatton is a large-scale mural project curated by the team behind the successful First Coat Festival in Toowoomba.
It features two installations that complement Toowoomba's CBD streets and laneways, showcasing more than 70 contemporary public art installations.
The project includes two stunning murals by Bronte Naylor and George Rose. Naylor's mural at 54 Railway Street explores the connection between people and country, emphasizing the importance of this relationship. Rose's mural at the corner of North and Railway Streets highlights the endemic flora and fauna found in Lockyer Valley, showcasing the area's unique biodiversity.
Visitors can enjoy the murals at any time of day, making it a flexible experience in terms of scheduling. To reach First Coat Lockyer Valley Gatton, travelers can drive or take public transport. Lockyer Valley is approximately 90km from Brisbane, and visitors can reach the art murals within walking distance from the train station.
