Description

The Goulburn River Walkways is an extensive program initiated by the Goulburn Mulwaree Council to open up the riverside space for community access.

The Mulwaree River Walkway starts on Bungonia Road and extends over Lansdowne Bridge towards Carr Confoy Sporting Fields. The Wollondilly River Walkway starts from Marsden Weir and extends up to the Tarlo Street Bridge. Soon, the two walkways will be linked together to create a delightful walking experience along the riverside.

The Goulburn River Walkways are perfect for a weekend getaway, with heaps to see and do. Along the Wollondilly River Walkway, the Marsden Weir is one of the main attraction points. This historic site, built-in 1872, played a crucial role in providing fresh water supply to Goulburn in the 19th century. The walkway then leads to a beautiful suspension bridge, from where you can enjoy great views of the river. The Mulwaree River Walkway is an excellent place for bird-watching due to the vast wetlands surrounding it. From here, you can spot various land and water birds, such as ducks and cormorants. Children and adults can have a fun-filled day picnicking, fishing, and biking as facilities are available to cater to all these activities.

The Goulburn River Walkways is open for public access throughout the year. During winter, the walkway can be covered with frost, creating an enchanting and magical atmosphere.

The Goulburn River Walkways have numerous access points, making it easy for everyone to visit
