Description
Greenhill Wines is a vineyard, cellar door and café situated in the Piccadilly Valley region of the Adelaide Hills.
The beautiful landscape is reflected in the wine, food and strong community in the region. Rub shoulders with the locals and be a resident for a few hours.
Paul and Penny Henschke had lived next door for 20 years when they bought the vineyard in 2009. They make a formidable, and ever welcoming team as winemaker, fabulous cook and welcoming hosts.
The Wines
Grapes for their wines are all sourced within 2.5km of the winery. They are all hand-picked and fermented with selected or vineyard yeasts. Their high altitude cool climate vineyards allow harvest of balanced grapes minimising wine making interventions. Greenhill sparkling wines are made using the traditional bottle fermented method.
Cellar Door & Café
Greenhill Wines Cellar Door, Café and Winery is an exciting new food and wine venture located in the Greenhill Vineyard off Greenhill Road at Summertown, high in the Adelaide Hills. Drs Paul and Penny Henschke want to share their love of good food and wine in an exquisitely renovated 1880s settlers cottage set amongst vines with a stunning panoramic view of the picturesque Piccadilly Valley and Mount Bonython.
