Description

Located on the south end of the Sunshine Coast, Hanging Rock is a popular reef dive off Mooloolaba.

This site is situated on the large Outer Gneerings Reef along with other diverse sites in the area. The main feature of this dive site is a large rocky overhang adorned with tubastra corals, soft corals, and sponges. You'll discover dozens of striking nudibranchs, colorful sea slugs, on a typical dive. This dive site is also home to a good variety of reef fish, including crayfish, crabs, shrimps, and flatworms. Keep your eyes peeled for numerous moray eels with their heads hanging out from the many ledges within this dive site.

Hanging Rock is a fantastic diving location with a maximum depth of 19 meters, suitable for beginners and advanced divers alike. With a network of rocky ridges and gutters covered in corals, this dive site is a great place to explore the underwater world.
