Description

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a picturesque marina and tourist precinct located in the suburb of Hillarys, north of Perth, Western Australia.

Known for its beautiful beaches, Hillarys Boat Harbour attracts visitors from all over the world.

Hillarys Boat Harbour was the first major marina in the north metropolitan region of Perth. Following the commencement of the construction in September 1985, boat launching facilities were completed in October 1986. Boats started moving into pen moorings just two months later, just before the start of the 1987 America's Cup Challenge Series. In 1989, Sorento Quay was sold to Victoria Co., a Japanese group, after receivers were appointed to sell the assets of the Lombardo Group. The Wyllie Group purchased Sorrento Quay, the retail precinct at Hillarys Boat Harbour, in 1999 for $16 million from Victoria Co. After its acquisition of Sorento Quay, the Wyllie Group announced a $9 million plan in late 2004 to expand the boat harbour's Sorrento Quay shopping precinct. The new development cost $30 million when it was opened on December 13, 2008, by MLA Rob Johnson.

Hillarys Boat Harbour offers a wide range of attractions, making it a perfect day out for the whole family. One such attraction is the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA), which showcases the marine life and unique regions of Western Australia’s 12,000-k
