Dean Bryant is one of Australia’s leading creators and directors of musicals and is currently directing Dear Evan Hansen for STC and the Michael Cassel Group. Dean is known for his skill in directing musicals with a heart and his versatility as a writer and a director, moving between plays, musicals, opera, cabaret and most recently screen. He has won numerous awards including the 2024 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Musical and Best Director of a Musical for A Little Night Music as well as directing Best New Australian Work winner Hubris and Humiliation, Sydney Theatre Company. In 2025 Dean will have several musicals and plays on the stages of Sydney Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company.
