Description
A24's I Saw the TV Glow - one of the most hyped films of the year among cinephiles - is the follow-up to Jane Schoenbrun's 2021 thriller 'We’re All Going to the World’s Fair'.
Isolated teen Owen (Smith) is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate Maddy (Lundy-Paine) introduces him to the mysterious late-night TV show, 'The Pink Opaque', and a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen's view of reality begins to crack.
Schoenbrun's strong sense for '90s cult classic aesthetics shines through in this surreal nostaligic trip that captures the desparation of a perpetual outsider's need to escape the claustrophobia of suburban America.
