Description
Discover the passions of the Albany weavers in a colourful exhibition of work.
For over fifty years, Albany Weavers have cultivated excellence in their craft. Beginners to experienced weavers work in their loom-filled room at the Vancouver Arts Centre, sharing knowledge and inspiration with each other.
The weavers participate in the creative continuity of a living tradition and experience the slow, meditative pleasure of hand-making. They engage with the wider weaving community via publications and on-line, and share their knowledge through teaching learn-to-weave courses.
This exhibition shares a selection of the passions of the Albany weavers, for colour, yarn, weave structures, patterns; for use and for pleasure.
