It is a popular destination for scenic photography and natural landscapes. The lookout provides a stunning view of Kanangra Deep and Kanangra Walls, with Mount Cloudmaker visible in the distance. Visitors can take a 10-minute walk down a wheelchair-accessible track from the Kanangra Walls car park to reach the unfenced lookout. From there, they can enjoy the panoramic view or continue down to the lookout platform for an even better view.
In addition to the stunning vistas, visitors to Kanangra-Boyd Lookout can also spot wildlife such as wedge-tail eagles soaring in the sky above. Along the trail, there is a revegetation area filled with silver banksia, mountain devils, and hakeas.
The best time to visit Kanangra-Boyd Lookout is between September and November, during the spring when the area's flora and fauna are in full bloom. To fully appreciate the beauty of the surroundings, it is recommended to visit the lookout early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the soft light enhances the scenery.
