Kirrama National Park

Kirrama National Park is a scenic wonderland located in the Minnamoolka area of the Tablelands Region in Far North Queensland, Australia.

It protects stunning rugged mountain landscapes, lush tropical rainforest, and vast eucalypt forests as part of the renowned Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Access to the park is through the Kennedy Development Road, although it was temporarily restricted in 2011 due to flood damage caused by Cyclone Yasi.

The park's landscape is diverse, with unexplored areas and a section of the Burdekin River water catchment. It encompasses rare and endangered ecosystems, including tropical rainforests and open eucalypt forests. The park is home to a variety of wildlife species, including many endemic to the region. Birdwatchers will particularly enjoy the park, as it attracts exotic avian species.

Visitors can experience the park through the Society Flat Rainforest Walk, a 720-meter circuit that showcases the park's natural beauty. Sturdy and comfortable shoes are recommended for the walk. Camping is not allowed within the park boundaries, and there are no formal facilities available on-site. It is advisable to bring water, food, and other necessary items for a fully enjoyable trip.
