Description

Lake Binney is an artificial lake located in Bronte Park, Tasmania, Australia.

It was created for hydro-electricity purposes and receives water from Bronte Lagoon via Woodward's Canal into Brady's Lake. The outflow is through a canal that leads to Tungatinah Lagoon.

One of the main attractions of Lake Binney is fly fishing. Visitors are advised to check the signs indicating the approved fishing areas. Additionally, the Clarence River Conservation Area in Bronte Park offers beautiful natural scenery, hiking opportunities, and wildlife spotting. For a more relaxing activity, a morning world heritage cruise on the Gordon River from Strahan is recommended.

The best time to visit Bronte Park is during the summer months from December to February when temperatures range from 12°C to 22°C (54°F to 72°F). This is also the peak tourist season, so expect crowds and higher prices. Winter (June to August) is the low season due to cold temperatures and heavy snowfall.

To reach Bronte Park, visitors can fly to Hobart International Airport, the closest airport to Tasmania. From there, they can hire a car or take a taxi for the three-hour drive to Bronte Park. The main route via National Highway 1 is recommended. Visitors coming from Strahan can reach Bronte Park in about two and a half hours via B24 and C193.
