Description
Lake Hamilton is a beautifully landscaped man-made lake located at the eastern end of Hamilton.
It is surrounded by 25 hectares of parkland and offers various water sports and leisure activities. Visitors can enjoy a 4.2km walking/bike track, Lakes Edge Adventure Playground, Hamilton Skate Park, and the Dog Park. Water-based sports such as fishing, waterskiing, sailing, rowing, windsurfing, canoeing, and swimming are also popular at Lake Hamilton. The lake is home to various fish species, making fishing a favorite activity. The Hamilton Park Run is a weekly 5km run around the lake that is free for anyone to participate. Camping is not permitted, but visitors are welcome to use the facilities and enjoy the parkland from dawn until dusk. The best time to visit is during summer, but the lake is open year-round. To get there, drive to the eastern end of Hamilton and follow the signs. Visitors can park their car in the parking area and enjoy the park and lake facilities.
