Description

Lake Wuruma Eidsvold is a popular natural attraction located 48 kilometres north of Eidsvold.

It has a capacity of 165,000 megalitres and took three years and $5.3 million to build. The lake provides irrigation for the region's agriculture and sits on the Nogo River, flowing into the Burnett River downstream.

The lake offers a range of excellent facilities for outdoor enthusiasts, including sheltered picnic areas, wood barbecues, designated camping areas, toilets, and boat ramps.

Lake Wuruma is a fantastic spot for a relaxed day out with friends and family. Visitors can take advantage of the designated picnic shelter areas and cook up a storm on one of the wood barbecues. The lake is perfect for water sports such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and boating.

An annual fishing competition is held at Lake Wuruma, with great prizes to be won. The lake is home to several fish species, including Australian Bass, Silver Perch, and Barramundi. The Wuruma Dam Fish Restocking Association works hard to stock the lake with a range of native fish, including barramundi, Australian bass, golden perch, and silver perch. There are also breeding populations of eel-tailed catfish, spangled perch, and eels.
