Description
Lennox Head Beach is a National Surfing Reserve located in Lennox Head, New South Wales.
It was declared a surfing reserve in February 2007 and is the largest reserve in Australia. Stretching for 7.2 kilometers, it is a popular surfing destination.
The highlight of Lennox Head Beach is its right-hand point-break, which is considered one of Australia's most famous waves. It attracts experienced surfers due to its power and scenic beauty. The beach is also suitable for swimming, sunbathing, and walks along the shore. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck in the surrounding areas.
Visitors can enjoy Lennox Head Beach throughout the year, but the best waves are during the winter months of June to August. Swells can reach up to 8-10 feet high, providing an excellent surfing experience. It's important to wear appropriate wetsuits as the water can be cold.
Getting to Lennox Head Beach is easy by car, with a large car park near the beach. Visitors driving from Byron Bay can take the Pacific Motorway and then the Ross Lane exit. There is also a bus stop near the Surf Club for those coming from Byron Bay, Ballina, or Lismore.
