Description

Lesueur National Park, located 211 km north of Perth, is a renowned destination for its diverse flora and fauna.

Spanning across the Wheatbelt and Mid-West regions of Western Australia, this park covers approximately 27,000 hectares and includes two mesas- Mount Lesueur and Mount Michaud.

The park falls under the bioregion of Geraldton Sandplains, known for its scrubby heath with a high diversity of plants from the family Proteaceae. With over 900 indigenous plant species, many of which are endemic, Lesueur National Park attracts botanists from around the world. It is also home to rare or threatened species such as the Mount Lesueur Grevillea, Forrest's Wattle, the Lesueur Hakea, and the Laterite Mallee.

In addition to its diverse plant life, the park showcases unique tree formations. Visitors can admire the Jarrah and Mountain Marri trees, which grow in their distinctive mallee form, different from their typical tall tree structure. Visitors are urged to exercise caution and help prevent the spread of this disease.

For nature enthusiasts seeking an escape from city life, Lesueur National Park offers a paradise to explore and appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
