During its heyday, Little Coogee was equipped with separate change rooms for men and women. The site also had a lifesaver to ensure the safety of visitors. The Coogee Life Saving Club held its first lifesaving carnival in Parramatta Park in 1912, which took place at Little Coogee. Hence, it earned its name from the club. Visitors can access Little Coogee via Button's Bridge, which provides an excellent way to take a scenic walk among the greenery alongside the Parramatta River.
