Description

Little Shelley Yuraygir is a hidden gem for nature lovers and shell collectors.

It is a secluded location that can be accessed from the Yuraygir Coastal Walk track. As you walk south through the campground, keep an eye out for a small track to your left that leads down the hill to Little Shelley, offering breathtaking ocean views.

At Little Shelley, you can immerse yourself in nature and collect unique shells. You can easily spend a few hours wandering and fossicking.

There is a picnic table tucked under a Pandanus tree at Little Shelley, providing a great spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a snack while taking in the views. One special feature of this picnic table is the arrangement of shells left by previous visitors, which is an impressive and unexpected surprise.

While Little Shelley can be visited at any time of the year, it's best to check the tide schedule before planning your visit. It can be easily missed at high tide, and the best time to collect shells is during low tide.

To reach Little Shelley, you will need to take the Yuraygir Coastal Walk track. This track is part of a 65km coastal walk that starts from Coffs Harbour in the north and ends at Angourie in the south. It's a short walk from the adjacent campground, and the track is well signposted to guide you there.
