Description
Luncheon Bay Dive Site is located at the northern end of Hook Island in the Whitsunday group, Queensland, Australia.
It is a popular spot for scuba divers and snorkelers, accessible by boat. The dive site offers depths of up to 20 meters and a diverse range of marine life to observe.
At Luncheon Bay Dive Site, divers can explore bommies, caves, and crevasses. The rocky outcrops are covered in soft corals, black coral trees, gorgonians, and sea whips. Reef fish such as trevally, Maori wrasse, gropers, sweetlips, coral trout, and nudibranchs can be spotted. The site is also known for whitetip reef sharks, turtles, and occasional manta rays.
During this period, the temperature is mild and water visibility can reach up to 20 meters.
To reach Luncheon Bay Dive Site, boat access is necessary. There are several tour operators in Airlie Beach that offer one-day diving tours to Hook Island newline.
