Description

The Maleny Trail in Maleny is a popular 6.7 km circuit located within the Blackall Range of the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

It takes you through a subtropical rainforest alongside Obi Obi Creek, where you can catch glimpses of platypus in multiple viewing platforms along the way. The trail is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, including walkers, prams, and wheelchairs.

In addition to the Maleny Trail, there are plenty of other things to do in Maleny. For bird enthusiasts, the Maleny Northern Wetlands Trail is a great option, as it is full of birdlife and the sound of singing frogs.

The best time to visit Maleny is during the autumn and winter months. The mountain air is cooler, and the deciduous trees are in full bloom, creating a stunning backdrop for visitors.

To reach the starting point of the Maleny Trail, head to the roundabout at the junction of Maple, Coral, and Bunya Streets. There are nearby car parking facilities at Tesch Park or the Library building. From there, follow the path up Coral Street until you reach the intersection of Bicentenary Lane. Look for a large green sign that marks the official entrance to the boardwalk, which will lead you to the Maleny Trail.
