Divers can explore shallow caves, gullies, and medium-sized fish life, creating an interesting dive experience. Towards the eastern edge is another well-known dive site called 'Boulders', abundant with plate corals and other acropora. Snorkellers can also enjoy the beautiful coral cover with coral rubble and silty sand on the eastern side of the cove.

Visitors should be cautious of strong currents near the point, but there is a variety of corals, including large gorgonian fans, for viewing pleasure.

Maureens Cove offers crystal clear water with a visibility range of 3 to 15 metres, making it ideal for diving. The depth ranges from 3 to 15 metres, catering to beginners and certified divers. The dive sites feature large coral bommies and a sandy bottom, providing unique experiences.

Camping is available on the beach at Maureen's Cove, requiring National Park camping permits. Access to the cove is by boat, with tour boats making routine visits to Hook Island.
