It was once a rubbish dump but has been transformed into a beautiful spot for visitors to enjoy, thanks to a redevelopment project by the Green Corps group in 2001. The area is now maintained by Stansbury Tidy Towns for public use.

The redevelopment project also involved removing feral Aleppo Pines, an invasive plant species, and restoring coastal native shrubs. This has created a natural oasis in the area.

Situated along the cliff tops, Mills Gully Lookout provides a breathtaking view of Oyster Bay, Gulf St Vincent, Stansbury Jetty, and Township. It's a perfect spot to appreciate the beauty of South Australia.
