Description
Visiting Mona is a unique experience.
Located on the banks of the Derwent, just a short ferry ride from Hobart, it is the largest private museum in Australia, featuring three levels of underground galleries. You can explore these galleries with the custom-built handheld technology, the O, which tells you all about the artworks on display. But Mona is not only a museum, it is also home to two wineries, a brewery, several bars and restaurants, luxury accommodation pavilions, a library, a cemetery, and even a tennis court.
Admission to the museum is $35 for adults and $30 for concession, while Tasmanian residents can get in for free with a $10 booking deposit (which is refundable if you show up). Under 18s can also enter for free, but they need to book a ticket.
