Description
The dolphins that have been coming into the shores of Monkey Mia for more than 30 years are an icon of WA's coastline.
The dolphins come into interact with humans at the beach at Monkey Mia which is on the north eastern arm of the Peron Peninsula at Shark Bay. They have been visiting the shores of the beach since the 1960s. They are fed by the rangers so as to allow human contact while not distressing the dolphins or allowing them to become dependent on hand feeding. Rangers allow visitors to feed the dolphins at random times of the day.
